Monthly Board Meetings
Regular Board of Directors meetings are normally held on the 2nd Thursday of each month starting at 4:00 P.M. at the Community Center located at 2950 Community Center Road, across Golden Eagle Drive from the Raven Golf Club House. Please call a Board member to verify the date and time of our next meeting.  Attendance is open to all property owners. If you have an item that you wish to have on the agenda, please call the President one week in advance.

Note: ENPHA will no longer publish newsletters, as the information provided on this website replaces the use of paper newsletters, and can be kept up to date much more frequently and easily.

ASSOCIATION PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES - 2012

Volunteer Opportunities

One of the great strengths of our Association over the years has been the willingness of so many of you to volunteer your time on a variety of programs and activities.  No matter the work to be done on HOA property - the annual workday, trail maintenance and repair, fire mitigation and healthy forest projects, tree spraying and noxious weed control programs, or the annual summer barbecue and picnic - there has always been a large number of you who are willing to volunteer. This saves the Association a considerable amount of money each year.  There are sign-up sheets here at the Annual Meeting where you can offer your time on an activity of interest to you.  Further details for each activity are below and in the detail pages of this website.

Annual Workday

This year in June (Saturday, June 9), dozens of us will come together on a variety of workday activities.  One crew of volunteers will work around the Community Center to get it ready for a busy summer, and a second crew will work to repair and maintain our trail system.  Lunch will be served at the Community Center at the conclusion of the workday.  Stuart Richardson is in charge of our Annual Workday.  You can contact Stuart at homes307@comcast.net with any questions about the workday.

Trails

The Association maintains several miles of trails within Eagles Nest.  These trails are readily accessible and give our members an opportunity for recreation throughout the year.  Our trails also link up with those in the national forest and the beautiful Gore Range.  We plan to have maps of the trail system available this summer.  Bill Reed is in charge of trail maintenance and repair.  He will have a crew working on trails as part of our Annual Workday in June.  If you have questions or wish to volunteer, you can contact Bill at wwr412@comcast.net.

Annual BBQ/Picnic

Always a highlight of the summer, the Annual BBQ/Picnic is scheduled for Saturday, July 28.  Later this spring you will receive an invitation in the mail with more information.  You can help make this year’s BBQ/Picnic another great success by offering to volunteer.   Do so by contacting Bonnie Guthrie at bonniesaunders1@yahoo.com.   (I’M CONFIRMING WITH BONNIE).

Tree Spraying Program

Faced with the threat brought on by the Mountain Pine Beetle, the Association (in 2004) began a program of mandatory tree spraying.  This program has been renewed every year.  However, the ENPHA Board, in consultation with State Forestry representatives, have elected to make this year’s pine tree spraying program voluntary to all landowners. The Board will continue to spray all ENPHA open space properties for another year and review the policy again in 2013.  For further information on the tree spraying program, contact Stuart Richardson at home307@comcast.net or by phone at 262-9024 or 389-6758.

Noxious Weeds

Several years ago the Association mounted a concerted effort in our neighborhoods to control and eradicate a number of noxious (i.e., non-native) weeds - Canadian and musk thistle, chamomile, oxeye daisy, and yellow toad flax.  Now, through the efforts of Jim Beltzer and his dedicated volunteers, we are gaining the upper hand.  Still, because these weeds will re-infest if we let our guard down, we need to monitor and eradicate new outcroppings each summer. In the spring, Jim and his volunteers are available to help property owners identify problem weeds. They will also identify lots with any infestations.  Property owners shall be responsible for eliminating noxious weeds on their properties by July 15 of each year without notice to do so. Properties not treated by owners will be sprayed by the Association and owners will be billed.  It is extremely important for property owners who spray their properties before July 15 to notify Jim Beltzer by e-mail by July 15 in order to avoid having the ENPHA commercial sprayer spray the property again. (No other notice will be accepted.)  If you have any questions about the program or would like to volunteer to help identify problem weeds, please contact Jim at jabeltzer@comcast.net.  Also, we have backpack sprayers and herbicide for use by members.  These can be obtained from Stuart Richardson, who will also provide instruction on their proper use.  You can contact Stuart by phone at 262-9024 or 389-6758 or by e-mail at homes307@comcast.net.

Design Review

One of the most important and valuable functions of the Association involves design review for new construction and renovation.  The Design Review Committee (DRC) evaluates plans, assures that guidelines are followed, and monitors the construction process.  You can learn about the design review process and find the guidelines followed by the DRC on the Home Construction page of this website.  If you have questions, please contact Board member Pinki Faux at pinkif@aol.com.
